Welcome to {never}homemaker -- a space dedicated to healthy, balanced, and w.h.o.l.e living. (Pssst: If you're looking for our blog stats, head over here!) The way we see it, a good, vibrant life need not be expensive, restrictive, or pretentious. And the process of living well encompasses far more than simple diet and exercise routines.

We have recently changed our title ever-so slightly from (never home)maker, which reflected our state of constant motion -- working full-time and trying to sneak in everything else in-between -- to {never}homemaker. As in, Ashley never, ever imagined after working full-time for the bulk of her late teens and 20s that she'd stay at home with daughter Ada Mae.

In June 2012, Ashley assumed a new position as work-at-home mom, Daily Deals Editor for frugal living website Wise Bread. However, a.l.w.a.y.s being home provides many of its own challenges, from budget woes to time management issues to multiple identity crises, and perhaps keeps us more on our toes than we could have ever imagined.


Much of our focus on this site is on healthy eats-- vegetarian and vegan dishes that utilize whole, local ingredients whenever possible. But we're proponents of eating well and also indulging from time to time often, so you'll find recipes for over-the-top sandwiches, delicious pizzas and garlic knots, and delectable cookies, among other treats.

In addition to our love of cooking and baking, we're avid runners. You can read about our personal records and running histories. We also blog on the topic frequently and have a specific Running Page organized by category.
