This Isn't Goodbye . . .

>> Monday, April 4, 2011

Well, not forever, at least. We just need a proper break. Instead, we've been trying to keep up with everything . . . but only able to commit a fraction of the time needed.

I repeat, though: This isn't goodbye forever.

We're working on several large projects at the moment. Plus DIY stuff you'll be excited to read about -- we promise! And we're in the height of the insanity with trying to sell our house. Since most of our cooking gear is packed away, our meals have been sort of blah. Boring. Definitely not blog-worthy.

Running, too, has taken a back seat. Stephen is just now getting over his injury that sidelined him for over 9 weeks. He won't be running Boston this year, but he's happy to be running at all at this point.

I guess that's the update. The what's-going-on-with-us.

Now, here's the deal: Let's all agree to meet back here on Monday, May 16th. By then, we'll know either way with our house situation. Stress levels will be lowered. Cooking gear will again be in use. Running will again be full of passion in the spring weather. All good things!

Thanks so much for your support!

No Longer a Mystery Sandwich

>> Friday, April 1, 2011

For those of you who are still wondering what the HECK this sandwich is:

I have your answer. A couple months ago, Endless Simmer published a list of America's Top 10 New Sandwiches. Then Marly over at Namely Marly got an idea to veganize these meat- and cheese-heavy beasts -- asking some food bloggers to help her out.

I chose the ChurchKey's New Luther.

According to Endless Simmer -- is created with "house-made brioche donut glazed in savory maple-chicken jus and topped with warm pieces of oven-baked pecans." But that's not all. "The brioche is cut in half and stuffed with a hunk of buttermilk fried chicken and wedges of applewood smoked bacon."

Holy sandwich! (Image Credit)

If you'd like to see our vegan take -- complete with recipes -- head over to Namely Marly.
