Long weekends in summer are the BEST. After being away Saturday and most of Sunday, we spent Monday gardening and fixing up our backyard spaces. The temps were in the upper 80s, but I'll gratefully take the heat over all the rain we've had.
Here are some progress shots. We'll post more details soon!
I had asked for an additional day off on Tuesday. A day just for, well, me. I never get much time to myself since Stephen's work schedule lets him off the hook around 3PM most days. So, I did exactly what I wanted to do. All day.
I woke up and took a steamy 6-mile jog around the neighborhood. Then I showered and sat outside for a few hours.
I mostly caught up on baby-related reading . . .
When the outdoors got too hot for me, I ventured inside and watched a bunch of baby shows on TLC. Big mistake. I think I'll avoid watching labors for the next 6 or so months. It didn't used to bother me at all. But now . . . I'll pass.
I prepped some pumpkin garlic knot dough for the coming weeks . . .
I also recorded a 14-week vlog post for (never home)maker, baby! if you're interested in checking that out. We recently got a new laptop, so it was fun testing out the video on it. Not so much fun was realizing that the sound recording sucks. Grrr.
This fast, refreshing dish is quickly becoming a new favorite of mine . . .
FRUIT AND CHEESE "SALAD"
What you'll need . . .
- 1 large apple, chopped
- 1 large nectarine, chopped
- 2 sticks of pepper-jack (or other string) cheese, chopped
- Toss everything into a bowl.
- That's all.
Along with our 14-week video post, we're divulging if we're on team pink or team blue today on (never home)maker, baby! Our gender scan isn't until 20 weeks, so we have a while to wait . . . but we're keeping ourselves occupied in the meantime!
What'd you do over the holiday (or weekend)? Get anything done . . . or just relax? Just leave a comment or email us at neverhomemaker [at] gmail [dot] com.
