Family 4-Miler
>> Wednesday, April 4, 2012
I ran 8 miles last night! When Stephen got back from his workout, I made dinner, then fed Ada, folded a load of laundry . . . and there was simply no time or desire to go very far. Looks like I skipped my long run entirely last week. But that doesn't mean I didn't get in a good sweat.
Before heading out the door, I turned it into a watch-wearing day and picked up the pace for a couple miles.

So, I guess you can add this tip to all those from yesterday's post: If you miss a key workout and simply can't make it up, just get out there and do the best you can. I see no reason to force myself to go and go and go if I don't have the time or energy. Of course, it can be a slippery slope, but -- at least in my experience -- I don't have too much trouble getting back on track.
Now, here's my secret for running WAY faster with a jogging stroller:

BRING SOMEONE TO PUSH FOR YOU!

We ran four miles together. Thankfully when Stephen's pushing, he runs closer to my pace. I say c-l-o-s-e-r because he was still keeping me on my toes. We're planning to make it a family affair once every other week or so. Otherwise, I'll keep up my solo jogging stroller 5Ks.
It was awesome to complete a run as a family.

Seems like no time till Ada will be running on her own. Perhaps in these Vibrams one of Stephen's coworkers gave us. Super cute, but she's got a long way to grow . . .
